Pittsburgh Recovery Walk
ABOUT
Due to the pandemic, The Pittsburgh Recovery Walk had to shift their annual walk to a virtual event in 2020. They reached out to us to provide the live stream and production for their event. Jim Donovan & Sun King Warriors performed “live” in Cut ‘N’ Run’s studio space as entertainment for the event.
They have since been able to return to an in-person event at the Riverfront Landing next to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh.
PROCESS
The Pittsburgh Recovery Walk had originally reached out to us to help put on their annual walk in a virtual manner. Due to those unusual circumstances, we had recorded content for the live stream on different days and incorporated it with live emcees who conducted the event. This combination of pre-recorded videos in conjunction with live segments made for a unique, seamless experience for the online viewer.
After live events resumed, we were able to bring our mobile switcher unit and a LiveU transmitter using our static IP address on-site to broadcast the event. We used three ENG cameras on risers and also a Mavic 2 Pro to incorporate some aerial coverage and live shots from the sky.
FINAL DELIVERY
The live stream was streamed to as many outlets on social media as possible. We incorporated live feedback from viewers on Facebook and Twitter into graphics that were shown during the live stream. It is still available online for playback at any time.
RESULTS
Viewer engagement was high every year during the live streams on social media. The execution of each event was a success and the Recovery Walk would like to use Cut ‘N’ Run’s services again.
